Chemical reactions require time to run to completion, and this time varies greatly from reaction to reaction.  Chemical Kinetics deals with some of the factors (temperature, for instance) which determine this time and how we must specify them.  Chemical Dynamics deals with reaction details in an attempt to understand how reaction times differ from one chemical system to another.

Course Requirements
A variety of topics will be covered and problems will be assigned which are intended to develop the student's mastery and understanding of the material.  These problem assignments will be graded and will be part  of the overall course grade.  In addition, one or more examinations will be given, and each student will report on a paper from the literature.  The report will consist of an oral presentation in class, as well as a short written summary.
