SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 5, 2007

1. CALL TO ORDER:

The Special meeting of the City of Hilshire Village was called to order by Mayor Robin S. Border at 8301 Westview, Houston, Texas at 7:30 P M. Present were Council members Connie Castro, Zandra Anderson, Mayor Pro-tem John Denninger and Shannon Whiting. Absent was Brian Henault. (The Special Meeting requires four council members to be present.)

2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION:

Resolution to join Harris County for a joint election on May 12, 2007.

It was moved by Denninger, seconded by Whiting that Hilshire Village join Harris County for a joint election on May 12, 2007, and motion carried unanimously.

By using Harris County in a joint election, voters would use Harris County Early Voting locations while taking into consideration each entity’s current polling location for Election Day. They will process all absentee/postal ballots, obtain the polling locations and poll workers, and will secure the required language assistance personnel.

Early voting dates and times for a joint election are as follows:

Monday, April 30, 2007 through May 4, 2007 8AM to 4:30 PM

Saturday, May 5, 2007 7AM to 7 PM

Sunday, May 6, 2007 1 PM to 6 PM

Monday, May 7, 2007 through Tuesday May 8 7AM to 7 PM

By conducting a joint election, a pro rata share of the cost rather than 100% of the cost to conduct a standalone election.

3. ADJOURNMENT: It was moved by Denninger, seconded by Whiting that meeting be adjourned. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 P M.
