Dynamic Strength of Chemical BondsAtomic force microscopy (AFM) and related experimental techniques have become a routine methods of determination of strength of weak chemical bonds. Current theoretical methods allow to extract the strength of a single chemical bond from AFM experiments. However these results are in contradiction with independent bulk measurements of strength of chemical bonds. We are investigating theoretically the processes of chemical bond breaking during AFM experiment. Our theories will also take into consideration the possibility of multiple parallel bonds.
